Simply use a long screwdriver to hold them in the tank and then loosen them from the underside.
Next, disconnect the tank to bowl nuts on the tank. Most of this video will demonstrate how to replace the wax ring, a critical part of replacing the toilet. Since there is no longer a tight seal, the water constantly leaks from tank to bowl. Doing so will make it easier to align.
