Replace Toilet Tank Flapper Valve. Or, you can replace the entire flush valve/flapper assembly with a convenient repair kit. The valve is secured with a lock nut under the tank, and a flexible tube connects the tank's overflow pipe.
Turn the water valve off and remove the water from the tank. Move your finger around the seat rim to check for irregularities or nicks. Disconnect the bad flapper valve.
Turn off the water supply
If you hear the water continuously running in your toilet tank or if it seems to take too long to fill, most likely you need the flapper, or the flush valve seal replaced. Then, take off the top plastic cap from the fill valve and lift the old valve seal. Use the following instructions to replace your toilet's flapper. Just make sure to turn the water off to the toilet then flush the toilet to get most of the water out so you can work in the tank easily.
